Thank you for helping this family make the transition to having a Jewish daughter. I recently started my conversion to Judaism after marrying into the faith. My family has not exactly been running up to congratulate me on my choice. They've been largely non-religious, but they celebrate Christmas like every other American family. I was surprised to see that my mother decked out the whole house for a hanukkah celebration, because I didn't know they would be going all out for me. It was very gratifying that though they couldn't say that they supported my choice, they were showing support anyway. It's absolutely lovely that a Brit who lives in Brazil can send flowers to Australia from an American company. This is a brave new world we live in, and I, for one, absolutely love this part of it. Friends of mine sometimes tell me they feel overwhelmed by all of the options and information they have available to them. But I find that there are distinct benefits to living at this time in history, like FTD for example. I don't believe what just happened. I sent flowers to my sister, who was on a business trip across the country. She e-mailed me that she won a big account, so I sent her a congratulations present. Little did I know she checked out early and was already back home! I was dead set against the frivolity of having flowers at my father’s funeral. He detested frivolous things of any kind.
