Valentine's Day is one of those days where if you have someone to send flowers to, you're happy, but if you don't then you aren't. This year I decided to send out a number of Valentine's flowers to some female acquaintances that I thought I might like to get to know better. The whole wedding party just about broke down in tears when the bride walked in with her swanlike bouquet of long-stemmed white roses. I hope that doesn't sound flip. I always thought a bouquet in a wedding was gardening flowers - daisies, maybe wild roses, dahlias, you know, like that. But all roses? I never would have ordered them if it was up to me, but she really wanted them. I wouldn't have though of it, but they were really spectacular.
