My mother has been an inspiration to me my whole life. Every time I go to her for advice, she is patient, understanding, and always has words of wisdom for me. It is absolutely the least thing I could do to send her flowers on Mother's Day, especially with everything I owe her. But she's got such a great attitude about life, she breaks down in tears that her daughter could be so kind as to bring her flowers. My fiancee and his friends, for some odd reason, decided to take a cross-country trip to California and back. My brother is being cared for in his home by several people, including myself and a few home care nurses. I almost needed the flowers that I sent as much as my brother did. My great-grandmother’s funeral was much more sober than any other funeral I’ve been to (to many of them), and I couldn’t figure out why. Finally, it dawned on me, the flowers were wholly inappropriate for the setting. They were the whole color, the wrong style, and too ostentatious for the scene. I found out that the person in our family who normally orders the flowers (from you) had asked someone else to do it this time, and he ordered from someone else. I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened.
