OK. I have to tell someone about this. I was in the running for a good job at a reputable company. The first time I ever received roses, I was still in high school. It was exciting and frightening all at the same time to get them from a boy. My great-grandmother’s funeral was much more sober than any other funeral I’ve been to (to many of them), and I couldn’t figure out why. Finally, it dawned on me, the flowers were wholly inappropriate for the setting. They were the whole color, the wrong style, and too ostentatious for the scene.
