I don’t know who else to tell, so I’ll tell you. Our son was killed in Iraq this past year. The conflicting emotions I feel about this are unbearable. We were so distraught that we left most of the arrangements to my brother. He had the good sense to order the flower stands from you. which I never would have thought made a difference. My brother has never been one to display heartfelt emotion, but I felt it when those flowers were next to my son’s civilian coffin at the funeral home. I offered to buy my mother a new food processor this year for her birthday, but nope, she wants another plant just like last year. I have a little secret about that, though. I was going to give her the food processor last year, but it was a little expensive for me, so I got her the plant. Now I find out she would actually prefer the plant. I wish someone had told me about you earlier. I don’t like talking about this, but the flowers at my grandmother’s funeral last year were unnecessarily gaudy. She didn’t like a big show, and I always thought she would have disapproved of them. Unfortunately, my mother died this year. I had used you before for birthdays, so I thought it couldn’t be worse than what my grandmother had.
