Good gracious! Just about everything went wrong with my sister's wedding. It was her third marriage, and I don't know what she was expecting mixing her dogs in the ceremony with the swans in a makeshift pool. It might have been funnier if I wasn't trying to hold it all together. Maybe I'll laugh about it someday. I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened. It's only recently that I've been in a serious relationship that has lasted through Valentine's Day, so maybe that has something to do with it. In any event, this last Valentine's, I was actually in a relationship, so I wondered what would happen. Societal attitudes, I guess. I got her some candy, and she got me some flowers. The flowers I sent to my son and daughter-in-law for a congratulations on purchasing a new house actually got there. I mistakenly sent them to the new house address without thinking about escrow and even move-in time. I couldn't be there in person because I'm overseas, so I had to suffer through a night of thinking, "what did I forget?"
