Sometimes it seems like my children have all left me for their better lives in other places. At least they find time to let me know they are doing OK. I have been receiving flowers on my birthday and the American Mother's Day for several years. That is a nice custom I think. I was dead set against the frivolity of having flowers at my father’s funeral. He detested frivolous things of any kind.
