Valentine's Day this year was very special. I asked my boyfriend to marry me, and after the initial shock, he said yes. My mother visited for a short time last spring, and she noticed something completely new, for her anyway. She noticed that there was this celebration called Mother's Day that everyone takes so seriously. All this so she can say that her daughters in America recognize that she is an American mother by proxy or something.
