The first time I ever received roses, I was still in high school. It was exciting and frightening all at the same time to get them from a boy. The “broken heart” flower stand arrangement was just perfect for my brother’s funeral. He died after a long, lingering illness, so it wasn’t a shock, but we wanted to think of it as an end to his suffering.
