I thank you for putting some joy into the life of one of my closest friends. Sadly, she passed away from cancer recently much too young. The flowers that were delivered to her hospice always brightened her day no matter what her mood was. I tried to visit with her as often as I could, but busy lives often get in the way of such relationships. The flowers she received had no such problems, though. She often said that it was as if I were there, and she would talk to the flowers as if they were me. My great-grandmother’s funeral was much more sober than any other funeral I’ve been to (to many of them), and I couldn’t figure out why. Finally, it dawned on me, the flowers were wholly inappropriate for the setting. They were the whole color, the wrong style, and too ostentatious for the scene. I found out that the person in our family who normally orders the flowers (from you) had asked someone else to do it this time, and he ordered from someone else. I have dealt with certain delivery companies before who could not handle a slight discrepancy in the address with any smarts at all. It seems like if two numbers in a zipcode are transposed, it stops them in their tracks and they delay a couple days and charge you half again as much. I admit that I sometimes get zipcodes wrong. My memory isn’t what it used to be. But someone over there recognized the mistake I made on a flower delivery and it didn’t slow them down a whit.
