I thank you for putting some joy into the life of one of my closest friends. Sadly, she passed away from cancer recently much too young. The flowers that were delivered to her hospice always brightened her day no matter what her mood was. She often said that it was as if I were there, and she would talk to the flowers as if they were me. I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened. My younger brother has always felt like he was kind of the forgotten child in the family. He's the youngest of seven, and was the last to do everything.
