I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened. I wanted to tell you that the orchids I sent my mother in the hospital really lifted her spirits. She was thrilled to see them because she has orchids at home that she hasn't seen in almost a month. The way my family celebrates Christmas, you would think it was Festivus.
