I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened. It's only recently that I've been in a serious relationship that has lasted through Valentine's Day, so maybe that has something to do with it. The plant I sent for my son's new apartment was perfect for it, even though he didn't think so. Boys at some point dislike their mothers giving them gifts.
