It seems strange to me that here in the tropics it can be trouble to find some kinds of flowers. But it's just like up there in the US with tropical flowers. Sometimes you need cold weather to grow some of these varieties of roses and asters. It's interesting the differences that climate makes. I love that you have all those geographical locations on your website. Do you use FTD? Oh, Duh... I just noticed that you did. I've often found myself only using FTD for sending flowers just because they seem to be very reputable, and I've never had any problems. I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened. It's only recently that I've been in a serious relationship that has lasted through Valentine's Day, so maybe that has something to do with it. In any event, this last Valentine's, I was actually in a relationship, so I wondered what would happen. Societal attitudes, I guess. I got her some candy, and she got me some flowers. How great was Mother's Day this year? I sent two, count 'em, two sets of roses to my mother this time. Once on the week before to announce my arrival, and once to arrive on Saturday at my hotel so I could bring them over. My mother visited for a short time last spring, and she noticed something completely new, for her anyway. She noticed that there was this celebration called Mother's Day that everyone takes so seriously. Now she demands that she be treated like an American mother and have flowers and cards and calls and gifts sent to her. All this so she can say that her daughters in America recognize that she is an American mother by proxy or something. Sometimes it seems like my children have all left me for their better lives in other places. At least they find time to let me know they are doing OK. I have been receiving flowers on my birthday and the American Mother's Day for several years. That is a nice custom I think. I noticed of late that the flowers that are coming seem brighter and cheerier, and I ask my children what's changed all of a sudden? They tell me they are using this new website.
