Valentine's Day is one of those days where if you have someone to send flowers to, you're happy, but if you don't then you aren't. This year I decided to send out a number of Valentine's flowers to some female acquaintances that I thought I might like to get to know better. I would never have thought to send flowers to my brother to congratulate him on getting a new job. Before I sent him flowers, I wouldn't have suspected that he liked getting them. It's much easier to be able to order flowers when the mood strikes, from a reputable retailer like yourself, than it is to make a conscious effort to go down to a florist in a shop and order something from them. Though I am far away from my friends, it's nice to know that I can let them know I am thinking about them in a time of sadness and loss. Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. It's something they can move around and focus on in order to get the kind of feeling that I hope I would provide were I there. I just wanted to say that the bouquet I ordered for my parents’ anniversary arrived right on time and touched my mother to tears. It was a special order of white and yellow rosebuds, which my dad used to give to her every Saturday when they were dating. I thank you for putting some joy into the life of one of my closest friends. Sadly, she passed away from cancer recently much too young. The flowers that were delivered to her hospice always brightened her day no matter what her mood was. I tried to visit with her as often as I could, but busy lives often get in the way of such relationships. The flowers she received had no such problems, though. She often said that it was as if I were there, and she would talk to the flowers as if they were me.
