I was in the USA recently, and I discovered the tradition of Thanksgiving. It's such a wonderful time to take the summer and autumn harvest and put it to good use for family that visits. I was interested to see how my American friends celebrated, and from what I understand, there is a turkey and potatoes and that's about what the similarities are between families. I like the idea of having a major holiday before Christmas that kind of celebrates autumn and all its colors. I was also impressed with the flowers. I understand that not everyone includes flowers as part of the holiday, but if my friends are any indication, everyone should have flowers. I would like to start a Thanksgiving celebration in my country, and I can start with turkey, potatoes, and autumn flowers.(Irina K., Tallinn )

My father hates everything. Since my mother died ten years ago, he's been a terrible grump. I think it was hard on him more than anyone else. I had never given him flowers before, but I thought, what the heck, you know? His house is so dark and masculine. On their anniversary, I was over at his house when they were delivered. I know you can't see it, but there's a big smile on my face because I finally got my father to break his long silence to my brother. They haven't seen eye to eye for years and have spoken in at least that long. I was able to get them together for my birthday, and the way I convinced them to come was to send each of them a note from me along with bouquets of flowers. It was the last thing I could think of to do, because these are not normally two men who would be affected by flowers. The way my family celebrates Christmas, you would think it was Festivus. My dad always tries to challenge someone to wrestle and we have a tinsel lined pole in the back yard that I used to practice tetherball on. I don't know if my parents have developed a sense of humor or we're all really warped. I'm glad I was able to bring some semblance of normalcy into Christmas, though, with the flowers that I sent ahead of time. There is one thing that people should know before they order from your website. Those flowers that you deliver last a long, long time.
