What a great idea to pair sunflowers and yellow roses. I never would have thought of that. I forwarded a couple of those to a house I was trying to sell, and I got more comments on them than I did on the gorgeous stained-glass window over the entryway. Sometimes it seems like my children have all left me for their better lives in other places. At least they find time to let me know they are doing OK. I have been receiving flowers on my birthday and the American Mother's Day for several years. That is a nice custom I think. I noticed of late that the flowers that are coming seem brighter and cheerier, and I ask my children what's changed all of a sudden? They tell me they are using this new website. This is your website. This is your flowers that I am talking about. I am thanking you for somehow convincing them that these new flowers are a better gift because they are much prettier and last longer. As a society, we tend to send flowers out of feelings of guilt for not being in a place we would normally be. Before the advent of automobiles and airplanes, we wouldn't stray too far from home (except in a few cases), and so we didn't have a need for sending gifts through the mail, or the Internet, or using FTD, or some other wire service. But we are products of our times, and because even nuclear families are so far flung, and because husbands and wives often live and work on different continents from one another, we have this need to send gifts to one anther in lieu of being there. What we're acknowledging is that we usually do what we can to make compromises between how we would like to live and how we would like to be close to one another. It's apparently socially acceptable to be apart like this as long as we can send each other things that remind us of this emotional connection even though there's no physical connection. Thank you for making at least one daughter in this world very happy. On the occasion of her first apartment by herself, her mother and I sent her a couple of arrangements of you more colorful flowers & baskets. My daughter was nearly in tears as she thanked us for what was for her an unexpected gift. We have had problems in our family, and it was nice for once to see that someone is being appreciated and someone else is doing the appreciating. There are two reasons I don’t order online. I’m always afraid I’ll click on the wrong thing, and something will get sent to an unsuspecting family in Siberia. And I don’t trust someone I can’t see. I have to say that your staff was able to handle an old curmudgeon like me who’s afraid of computers. My wife’s anniversary flowers arrived without a hitch. Is there a better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with flowers? It's the quintessential red roses day, and I send them out to my girlfriend every year. Sadly it is not the same girlfriend every year, but maybe if I start to remember their birthdays it would make it easier. Valentine's Day is much easier to remember. It's always on the same day.
