It would be wonderful if we all got the wedding of our dreams, but alas, where I wanted to married at the botanical gardens, my father's budget dictated that we get married at the Elks Lodge. I'm not complaining, really. In fact, it worked out perfectly and everything went off without a hitch -- so I've been told. It seems strange to me that here in the tropics it can be trouble to find some kinds of flowers. But it's just like up there in the US with tropical flowers. Sometimes you need cold weather to grow some of these varieties of roses and asters. It's interesting the differences that climate makes. This is a strange story, I know, but I had to get flowers not just to an address, but to a specific location within that address. Worst of all, it wasn't marked anywhere. My cousin is a stand-up comedian, and the flowers for him were for his first steady gig in L.A. They had to be right off-stage behind the curtain so as he came off, the flowers would be presented to him in his hands. My God, I can't believe they were there at just the right time. I was nervous as a cockroach at a tap-dance contest, but everything worked out OK.
