I'd like to think that I was making my daughter happy when I sent flowers to her on her first day at college, but I really suspected that she was embarrassed by her mother in front of her dorm-mates. Valentine's Day this year was very special. I asked my boyfriend to marry me, and after the initial shock, he said yes.
