Is there a worse holiday to miss than Mother's Day? I sailed right over it last year, and I suddenly noticed a palpable sheet of ice in my mother's voice over the phone ever since then. The first time I ever received roses, I was still in high school. It was exciting and frightening all at the same time to get them from a boy.
