My brother is being cared for in his home by several people, including myself and a few home care nurses. I almost needed the flowers that I sent as much as my brother did. I hate to admit that it's very stressful and also very heartbreaking to watch him deteriorate and then get better and then it starts all over again. My mother visited for a short time last spring, and she noticed something completely new, for her anyway. She noticed that there was this celebration called Mother's Day that everyone takes so seriously. Now she demands that she be treated like an American mother and have flowers and cards and calls and gifts sent to her. All this so she can say that her daughters in America recognize that she is an American mother by proxy or something. The first time I ever received roses, I was still in high school. It was exciting and frightening all at the same time to get them from a boy.
