My status as a second daughter in my family means that I am usually the left out one. I’m forced into the kitchen with my mother and aunties even though I have no idea how to cook. For example, you show what you are going to deliver and then you deliver it. That's about it. It's very simple and it works very well. I never would have guessed that one small gift of a houseplant would make such a difference in our relationship.
