We were so distraught that we left most of the arrangements to my brother. He had the good sense to order the flower stands from you. which I never would have thought made a difference. My brother has never been one to display heartfelt emotion, but I felt it when those flowers were next to my son’s civilian coffin at the funeral home. Back in the 1980s, there was a flower delivery service associated with a department store that has since been swallowed up by a larger company. The first time I ever received roses, I was still in high school. It was exciting and frightening all at the same time to get them from a boy.
