After an extended stay in the States, I am prepared to say that I like China better. This is not to say that I would not enjoy a life over there. I think my wife and I could enjoy a life together just about anywhere. But I have to say that I prefer my home country. I tried one of those cut rate (pardon the pun) online flower delivery sites, and I now know there is a reason they are so cut rate. As a society, we tend to send flowers out of feelings of guilt for not being in a place we would normally be. Before the advent of automobiles and airplanes, we wouldn't stray too far from home (except in a few cases), and so we didn't have a need for sending gifts through the mail, or the Internet, or using FTD, or some other wire service. But we are products of our times, and because even nuclear families are so far flung, and because husbands and wives often live and work on different continents from one another, we have this need to send gifts to one anther in lieu of being there. What we're acknowledging is that we usually do what we can to make compromises between how we would like to live and how we would like to be close to one another. It's apparently socially acceptable to be apart like this as long as we can send each other things that remind us of this emotional connection even though there's no physical connection. I don't know what the fuss is all about when flowers are delivered on-time. I read through some of your testimonials, and it seems like people are grateful when a company actually does what it says it's going to do. Well, I'm not buying into it. Delivering flowers is delivering flowers, and for that your company should be at the very most proud of accomplishing what you set out to do.
