I've always been ambivalent about Valentine's Day, mostly because nothing ever happened. It would be wonderful if we all got the wedding of our dreams, but alas, where I wanted to married at the botanical gardens, my father's budget dictated that we get married at the Elks Lodge. I'm not complaining, really. In fact, it worked out perfectly and everything went off without a hitch -- so I've been told. I appreciate that in the flower world FTD is like the phone company, so every florist has to use it. But I'd like to say that I think you guys are different. The picture on your website did not do the flower arrangement justice, and it looked like I spent more on my step-mother's Mother's Day present than on my mother's present. I know you can't see it, but there's a big smile on my face because I finally got my father to break his long silence to my brother. They haven't seen eye to eye for years and have spoken in at least that long. I was able to get them together for my birthday, and the way I convinced them to come was to send each of them a note from me along with bouquets of flowers. It was the last thing I could think of to do, because these are not normally two men who would be affected by flowers.
