Though I am far away from my friends, it's nice to know that I can let them know I am thinking about them in a time of sadness and loss. Flowers are so much more tactile and have more substance than cards or electronic messages, like they are stand-ins for you. It's something they can move around and focus on in order to get the kind of feeling that I hope I would provide were I there. I'm glad that you can help me express my sympathy for the family in this way and that I can do it much more easily than if I were to go there myself. Back in the 1980s, there was a flower delivery service associated with a department store that has since been swallowed up by a larger company. My brother is being cared for in his home by several people, including myself and a few home care nurses. I almost needed the flowers that I sent as much as my brother did. Sometimes it seems like my children have all left me for their better lives in other places. At least they find time to let me know they are doing OK. I just wanted to say that the bouquet I ordered for my parents’ anniversary arrived right on time and touched my mother to tears.
