I was in the USA recently, and I discovered the tradition of Thanksgiving. It's such a wonderful time to take the summer and autumn harvest and put it to good use for family that visits. I was interested to see how my American friends celebrated, and from what I understand, there is a turkey and potatoes and that's about what the similarities are between families. I like the idea of having a major holiday before Christmas that kind of celebrates autumn and all its colors. I was also impressed with the flowers. I understand that not everyone includes flowers as part of the holiday, but if my friends are any indication, everyone should have flowers. My fiancee and his friends, for some odd reason, decided to take a cross-country trip to California and back. Just to remind him why he's coming back, I decided to send flowers to him at each of their stops along the way. I sent a total of eight bouquets of yellow flowers, four over and four back. It seems like anyone who uses FTD to wire flowers around the world should be sending the same things to everyone. How come when I order from you folks I always seem to get things that are better than anyone else? I was so sick to hear of my sister-in-law's mother. She died of emphysema. It wasn't exactly unexpected, but it was still a shock to the family. My brother has taken it a bit hard also. I really wish I could have been there, but circumstances prevented. I was glad that I could at least be able to send flowers to their house. They were very gracious about them and I think my brother was most pleased. My status as a second daughter in my family means that I am usually the left out one. I’m forced into the kitchen with my mother and aunties even though I have no idea how to cook.
