I thank you for putting some joy into the life of one of my closest friends. Sadly, she passed away from cancer recently much too young. The flowers that were delivered to her hospice always brightened her day no matter what her mood was. I tried to visit with her as often as I could, but busy lives often get in the way of such relationships. The flowers she received had no such problems, though. She often said that it was as if I were there, and she would talk to the flowers as if they were me. I don’t know who else to tell, so I’ll tell you. Our son was killed in Iraq this past year. The conflicting emotions I feel about this are unbearable. We were so distraught that we left most of the arrangements to my brother. He had the good sense to order the flower stands from you. which I never would have thought made a difference. My brother has never been one to display heartfelt emotion, but I felt it when those flowers were next to my son’s civilian coffin at the funeral home. The way my family celebrates Christmas, you would think it was Festivus. My dad always tries to challenge someone to wrestle and we have a tinsel lined pole in the back yard that I used to practice tetherball on. I don't know if my parents have developed a sense of humor or we're all really warped. My best day this year was seeing the look on my five-year-old's face when she saw the giant package of flowers that my father sent to her on her first day of kindergarten.
